Abstract

The unfavourable working conditions of hotel chambermaids have been making headlines in the press for a few years. These workers have decided to self-organize to request an improvement in their employment situation. This paper analyzes the current working conditions of this group in two different countries. The results show that there are both similarities and differences between the groups analyzed, but, in general, they show that the conditions in which they have to carry out their daily work are not favourable, having to endure, for example, harassment and discrimination.
